why are vvpat useless?

VVPAT stands for "Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail". VVPATs are better described here.
I say VVPAT are useless because:
  1. you don't know if the vote shown to you is the same as the recorded one.
    It is easy for a program to show you your real vote and record a different one as you can see in this nice demo of a program acting this way.
  2. you don't know if recorded votes are properly tallied up to produce the final results.
    Why properly recording votes doesn't implies rigth results
